ABOUT US |

|
Apart from
several ongoing history projects (which you are very welcome to get
involved in), your Association conducts various social functions and
issues a quarterly newsletter.
Clearly, the success or failure of Association functions, and the degree to which we are able to achieve our objects will depend on you - the bottom line is that the Association will be as good as we the members want to make it! The committee welcomes your feedback on all matters to do with the Association. Please don't hesitate to contact any of us with your ideas, offers of help, suggestions or criticisms. Although your Association is bound by its constitution, we aim to make its day to day operations as informal and friendly as possible. |

Enlisted in WAUR in October 1982, Recruits at Tone River Jan 83 followed by IET and AET and numerous annual camps - followed WAUR from Mounts Bay Rd to Karrakatta then Leeuwin and Artillery Barracks discharging in April 1992 as LCPL. Highs: So Many! - 2 Weeks IET under hoochies at Bindoon, AET at Northam, the Nannup camps, The Sub 2 Northam Beach Party (or was it Toga?), Going feral at Lancelin Leopard using Mogs as APC's and discovering a MX82 500lb UXB, The Nannup camps, K89 & Skippy's revenge at Exmouth. The mix of absolute full on seriousness when training as opposed to the absolute full on bad behaviour when in the mess are the stand out impressions. Lows: Watching the unit go from a strength of over 600 soldiers to less then 100 |

Enlisted in WAUR in Feb 1983, Recruits at Northam May 83 followed by IET and AET and numerous annual camps - discharged in the late 1980's (can't recall the exact date) as LCPL. I had a fantastic time with WAUR on activities too numerous to mention. The main thing I took away from that time was a host of good mates and fun times. That is why I was keen to get an Association off the ground. |
